December News…..

Setting your goals

Highlights for 2016

When do we use a compact SLR over a larger 4k camera?

Launch of AngelfishLIVE (management of PR events, product launches, online TV and live communications)

Have you set your goals for 2017?  If not, why not?

At Angelfish we believe that setting goals is the key to achieving our dreams and working to our true purpose in life and work.

Goals are  not all about making as much money as possible. They say that the happiest people are those helping others and making a positive difference in the world.

With the growing tide of instability and political unrest it is now more important than ever to focus our energy on people and work that make us feel good and move us closer to achieving our goals.

August – We help to manage the main stage at Greenman Music Festival.
September  – We document Rick Astley rekindling his music career at First Direct Stadium, Leeds. OWCH!
November – We secure  Wateraid as the key supporting partner to our three day Reggae festival production next year.

Question : Did we achieve our goals in 2016?
Answer:  Yes. More importantly we had lots of fun making great stuff happen!

Using a three camera set up and a three source Dedo light system with amazing results.
When should we use SLR cameras over larger 4k ENG Cameras?

After ten years shooting on the ENG and broadcast range from Sony, JVC and Canon this year we invested in the new Canon 80D and some lovely glass.

We were spending time in India and were given a brief to film some footage for a new documentary on the teacher Ram Dass.

We  needed our kit to be light, flexible and fit in with the crowd. Bringing out expensive kit in third world countries can lead to lots of problems and bribery.

The Canon 80D SLR seemed like the perfect option for such a shoot and for future fast turn around videos and online media. SLRs are also far easier to fix in a country like India so it seemed like a good choice.

We were a little worried that our audio and pictures would be compromised due to having less settings on a smaller camera so we took a tascam sound recorder, a Rode shot gun mic and a lapel mic to improve the quality where possible.

Larger cameras do have more settings allowing for flexibility and more options in low light and challenging conditions but travelling with small bags and less weight does have its advantages.

SLRs are not always the best option as they overheat and do not always  shoot 4k. If you want to film people talking at events or you need a higher quality of picture for TV or advertising on bigger screens a larger 4k ENG or cinematic camera might be a better option.

We launch AngelfishLIVE

In 2016 we created, produced and marketed a number of very successful events including Rewilding Live with George Monbiot, Reggae LIVE with  Lee Scratch Perry and  Channel 4 LIVE.

We are now designing a new website that compliments Angelfish Films and  outlines our amazing experience in brainstorming new event ideas, producing LIVE streaming, installing great looking video, creating and marketing festivals and music events.

Website going LIVE on 20th December.

What are our goals for 2017?

To create a series of videos for our youtube channel and get the clicks from 15,000 to 20,000 clicks a month.

To produce and run a video campaign that really makes a difference.

To produce a branded live internet TV show with a number of partners in the world of health, diet, fitness, ecology or social change.

To film an exciting documentary with an amazing crew of like minded people who have similar intentions.
